According to the "official" ideology, the aristocracy and Crown family deserved their differential advantages due to the great (gross?) services made to the people (hired religious leaders were paid to say so, and also participated in these social obligations). After awhile, such a socially sick society produced its image everywhere in society. Thus an ideology based upon sex as a form of prey was produced, in which "corna" or horns represented sex used for power. Sex used for power (Mozart's "Don Giovanni" is an example) is still with us!
